Student accommodation FAQ — Malago Scholar Quarters, Bristol
Answers to common questions about purpose-built student halls on West Street, Bedminster (BS3). Rents from £202 per person per week, bills included. Good for University of Bristol, UWE Bower Ashton, Boomsatsuma, Temple Meads links and North Street.
What’s included in the rent / are bills included?
Rents start from £202 per person per week (pppw), bills included for cluster rooms. Studio rooms are from £277 pppw and large studios from £312 pppw (also bills included). Your rent covers utilities as stated on your offer — so you are not juggling separate gas/electric bills for day-to-day living costs in the same way as many private houseshares.
We do not spell out every connection detail on the website; what is included is confirmed on your tenancy offer.
How long is the tenancy? When is move-in for 2027/28?
For the 2027/28 academic year, the advertised contract is typically 52 weeks, with move-in from 3 September 2027 (booking form dates currently show 03/09/2027 – 31/08/2028). Exact start/end dates and any alternative lengths are confirmed on your offer.
Is there a deposit or holding / booking fee?
A £300 booking fee is shown on the register-interest booking flow to secure your room choice. Where a booking fee applies, the booking terms explain how it is treated (including as a holding deposit towards rent in line with those terms). Full deposit / fee details are confirmed on offer and in the booking terms and conditions.
Do I need a guarantor?
Most UK students will need a suitable UK-based guarantor as part of the tenancy process. International students may have different options (for example guarantor services or alternative arrangements) — these are confirmed during application / on offer. Guarantor paperwork is handled as part of the tenancy agreement process.
Can I book a whole cluster flat with friends?
Yes — groups can enquire about reserving an entire cluster flat (4, 5 or 6 bed options appear on the booking form). Use Register Interest and tick the entire-cluster option, or call 0117 244 2360 to discuss group bookings.
